Rehearsal, scheduled for 5:00pm at MVUC on April 18, 2003.
Followed by Rehearsal Dinner, at The Two Nineteen Restaurant in Old Town Alexandria.
The dinner is by invitation only. If you got an invitation, please RSVP to Kathy and Bob Coon or to the phone in the invite [e-mail no longer valid as of June 2003]. All dinner guests are invited to join us on a Ghost Tour of Old Town.

Ceremony:

The Ceremony will be a UNITY ceremony officiated by Dee Swinney, Minister of  Unity In Alexandria.

The ceremony is at MVUC which is locatedin south Alexandria, Va (in Fairfax County) at 1909 Windmill Lane, just off the George Washington Parkway, 5 minutes from Old Town, Alexandria and 15 minutes from Washington, D.C. On the grounds of the MVUC is the historic Hollin Hall Plantation, owned by George Mason's son.  See below for directions.

The ceremony will be held in the Remmington Chapel/Meeting House, Mt.Vernon Unitarian Church, Alexandria, VA and will begin promptly at 11:15am.

*By Public Transit (not recommended, you probably will need a car):
Take the Fairfax County Connector Bus, Route 101/102 Fort Hunt Line  From the Huntington Metrorail Station's Huntington Ave Exit. The bus fare is 50¢ or 25¢ [Due to fare increases and route resturcturing, these directions are no longer accurate as of 9/27/2004, however this site will be maintained for historical purposes.]; with a Metro-to-Bus Transfer. Take this bus to the Mason Hill Drive Stop.  When boarding, simply tell the driver to let you off at the Mason Hill Drive Stop. Get off at Mason Hill Drive, and walk onto Mason Hill Drive, go up the hill, and take a right onto Windmill Lane and follow signs to the MVUC.  It is about a 5 minute walk to the church.

If there is enough demand, we may arrange for transportation from thehotel to the ceremony, reception, and back to the hotel for those who donot wish to rent a car. Just e-mail us if you are interested in getting this service
 

Reception:

The reception will be at the TysonsCorner Maggianos Little Italy immediately following the ceremony.

*By Public Transit (not recommended, you will probably need a car):
It will take a very long time to get from the Ceremony to the Receptionusing Mass Transit and you might miss the festivities, but here is how you would do it: From the corner of Mason Hill Drive and Ft. Hunt Rd, Take Fairfax County Connector Bus, Route 101/102 Fort Hunt Line  Towards Huntington metrorail station.  Before boarding the train collect a bus transfer ticket.   Take the Yellow Line train one stop to King Street Station (Fare $1.10).  At King St. Station, catch the 28A TYSONS CORNER/WESTPARK bus.  Make sure to give the driver your transfer slip (Fare 25¢ w/transfer). Ask the driver to let you off the bus at Tysons Corner Shopping Center.  From Tyson's corner shopping center on International drive, then walk to the TYSONS II shopping center,where the Maggianos is at.

Hotel
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Eisenhower Metro Center, for the Coon-Johnson Wedding, the Weddingrate is $89 per night.

Getting to Alexandria:

Amtrak serves both the Alexandria,Va Union Station and Washington, DC Union Station.

By far, the closest airport is National Airport,  but other area airports include Dulles International Airport and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport.
